Alli’s story

Alli’s baking started from an innate need to nourish and treat loved ones during the pandemic.

Alli, who has a history of being an accomplished painter, found that sharing her baking became a love language to all those around her while we struggled with one of the hardest trials in our lives. She started baking awe-inspiring cakes for kids birthday parties of close friends, added fancy decorated cookies, then did cakes for adult parties and has branched into wedding cakes.

Soon she found herself in culinary school—learning what it means to be a chef while she has loved expanding her repertoire and learning lots of new techniques, she has never lost her deep love for baking.

Millburn Bakehouse

Alli grew up in South Africa on a picturesque farm called Millburn Farm. While she pondered what to call her new bakery, she was pulled back to those simpler days and was inspired by the words mill and burn and how they relate to baking.

As she is developing her business, she is excited to be creating her own home bakery in a house just for baking, her Bakehouse.

Millburn Bakehouse is just that—

milled flours, baked with heat
